Now Hiring: Full-Time Hybrid Team Member (Prep / Kitchen / Service)
Location: El Tenedor Café & Bar, 909 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M4W 2H2
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday (full-time availability is required)
About the Role
This hybrid position moves between Back-of-House kitchen support and Front-of-House service duties. You will assist with food prep and plating, help serve guests with a warm and friendly approach, support daily café operations, and contribute to an environment where creativity and care matter.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Support / Prep (BOH)
• Perform mise en place, prep lists, and station setup/breakdown
• Follow recipes with attention to quality and presentation
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen standards
• Work at pace during service and help support scratch cooking
Front-of-House Support (FOH)
• Plate and garnish dishes to specification
• Run food and engage with guests in a friendly, personable way
• Assist with basic beverage preparation (tea, wine, light drinks)
• Interact confidently with guests, recommend menu items, and help support service areas
• Handle POS and service tasks accurately and cheerfully

Required Qualifications:
• Full-time availability with flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Some prior kitchen experience (prep, line, cook or related work)
• Restaurant experience in either kitchen or service roles
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
• Passionate about healthy living and mindful food
• Friendly, personable, creative, and confident engaging guests
• Comfortable multitasking and switching between kitchen and service duties
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
Certifications / Essentials:
• Valid Smart Serve certification
• Valid Food Handler certification
Assets (Nice to Have):
• Strong server experience in a restaurant environment
• Genuine interest in food and wine (menus, pairings, hospitality)
• Looking for a long-term career in food service and hospitality
• Living close to El Tenedor Café & Bar for reliable commuting
