Hybrid Prep Cook & FOH (Full-Time)

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday
About El Tenedor Café & Bar
We create and serve mindful food: a vegetarian-centered menu with thoughtful vegan, meat, and fish options. We cook as much as possible in-house, so every plate feels homey yet finished like a high-quality restaurant. Our drinks program includes tea, wine, and house fermentations that pair naturally with the menu.
The Role
A true hybrid position that rotates between Back-of-House prep and Front-of-House multitasking. You’ll support service by plating orders, running food, serving, and engaging guests.
We’ll train the right fit. Bring passion, customer focus, and team spirit; we’ll teach the rest.
What You’ll Do
Prep Cook (BOH)
- Execute mise en place, prep lists, and station setup/breakdown
- Follow recipes precisely: portioning, labeling, FIFO
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety; keep pace during service
- Support our scratch kitchen standards across sauces, dressings, and bases
FOH Multitasker
- Plate and garnish dishes to spec; coordinate expo as needed
- Run food and serve with warm, guest-first hospitality
- Interact with customers: guide menu choices, suggest pairings (including wine and house fermentations)
- Handle POS accurately; keep service areas stocked and tidy
- Light beverage prep (basic tea and non-espresso drinks) when required

- Passionate about healthy lifestyles and mindful eating, curious about whole ingredients, seasonal cooking, and natural fermentations (including wine)

- Reliable, mature, and calm under pressure
Requirements
Must-haves
- Valid Smart Serve
- Valid Food Handler
- Full-time availability Tuesday–Saturday
- Comfortable switching between FOH and BOH as scheduled
Nice-to-haves
- Basic customer service experience (hospitality or retail)
